Coach Terms & Conditions
1. Agreement and Relationship to the General Terms
These Coach Terms of Service ("Coach Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Puttr Inc ("Puttr," "we," "us," or "our") governing your application to become, and your activity as, a coach ("Coach") on the Puttr coaching marketplace. By submitting a coach application or offering coaching through the Services, you agree to these Coach Terms.
The Puttr Terms & Conditions also apply to you and are incorporated by reference, including their provisions on accounts, intellectual property, prohibited activities, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, and dispute resolution. If these Coach Terms conflict with the general Terms on a coaching-specific topic, these Coach Terms control.
We may update these Coach Terms from time to time with notice as described in the general Terms.
2. Eligibility and Application
Coaches must be at least 18 years old. To become a Coach you must complete Puttr's application, including information about your coaching background and, optionally, professional credentials with supporting documentation.
You represent that everything in your application is true and that any credential documents you upload are genuine and yours. Misrepresentation is grounds for rejection or removal at any time, including after approval.
Acceptance is at Puttr's discretion. We may approve, waitlist, or decline applications, including based on marketplace demand, and approval does not by itself make you visible to Players.
3. Certification and Training
Before offering lessons you must complete the Puttr Coach Academy (platform training and quizzes) and pass a graded certification lesson evaluated by Puttr. Certification is a platform quality program, not a professional license or an endorsement of your coaching. We may require additional training when the platform changes materially, and we may revoke certification for the conduct described in Section 10.
Designations displayed on your profile (such as "Certified Coach") reflect verification of credentials you submitted plus completion of Puttr's program, and may be updated or removed if the underlying facts change.
4. Independent Contractor Status
You are an independent contractor. Nothing in these Coach Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship between you and Puttr. You control your own coaching methods, schedule, and availability, subject to the service standards you advertise (such as your turnaround time). You are not eligible for employee benefits. You may not represent that you are employed by Puttr, use Puttr's name or marks except as permitted for your marketplace profile, or make commitments on Puttr's behalf.
You are responsible for complying with laws that apply to you as an independent professional, including any local business registration, insurance you choose to carry, and the tax obligations in Section 6.
5. Lessons and Service Standards
A lesson consists of reviewing a Player's submitted putting session (video and data), delivering a recorded lesson with written notes, and, typically, assigning a practice plan, within the turnaround time advertised on your profile.
Your advertised turnaround is a commitment to the Player. If you cannot meet it, pause new bookings using the controls in the app. Lessons not delivered by your deadline plus the platform grace period are automatically canceled and refunded to the Player, and you are not paid for them. Repeated missed deadlines, sustained low ratings, or Player complaints may result in paused intake, retraining requirements, or removal under Section 10.
Each delivered lesson must be genuine, personalized coaching for the specific Player who booked it: a real review of their submitted session, delivered as described on your profile.
6. Fees, Payouts, and Taxes
Pricing. You set your lesson price within platform limits. Players pay your price plus Puttr's platform fee, which is added on top. The amount you set is the amount you receive for a completed lesson, except where a written arrangement with you (for example, a founding-cohort agreement) says otherwise.
Payouts. Payouts are made through Stripe Connect. To receive payouts you must create and maintain a Stripe connected account and agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, including the Stripe Terms of Service. Your payout for a lesson is released when you deliver it. If your Stripe account is not fully set up, earned amounts are held and released once it is. If a booking is refunded under the refund rules in the general Terms before your payout is released, you are not paid for it. We may withhold or offset amounts to cover refunds, chargebacks, or suspected fraud connected to your lessons.
Taxes. You are solely responsible for your own taxes on marketplace earnings, including income and self-employment taxes and, outside the United States, any VAT/GST or local filing obligations. Puttr and Stripe may issue tax documents (such as US Form 1099) where required by law. Lesson prices are set and paid in US dollars unless the platform states otherwise.
7. Player Data and Confidentiality
You receive access to Player videos, putting data, and statistics solely to deliver coaching through the platform. You must not use Player data for any other purpose, share it with anyone, or retain copies outside the platform after your access ends. Your access to a Player's data is limited to active engagements and the access windows shown in the app, and ends when they end.
If a Player is under 18, their engagement must be booked and supervised by a parent or legal guardian, and you must decline engagements that do not comply. Keep all communication with Players inside the platform and appropriate to a coaching relationship.
8. Your Content
You retain ownership of the videos and materials you create (lesson videos, intro videos, library content). You grant:
- to Puttr, a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, reproduce, display, and distribute your content as needed to operate, promote, and improve the Services, including showing your intro video and profile in the marketplace; and
- to each Player who purchases a lesson from you, a perpetual, personal, non-transferable license to view their lesson content for their own use.
You represent that your content does not infringe anyone else's rights and that you have permission for any third-party material in it. Content you create in certification or tutorial mode is subject to the same license to Puttr.
9. No Guarantee; Marketplace Placement
Puttr does not guarantee bookings, Players, visibility, or earnings. Marketplace placement reflects factors such as ratings, delivery record, and certification status, and may change. Badges and promotional placements (for example, founding or featured designations) are governed by the written arrangements that granted them and may have their own conditions.
10. Conduct, Circumvention, and Removal
The following are grounds for suspension, decertification, or permanent removal, at Puttr's discretion and with or without notice:
- soliciting or accepting payment for platform-introduced Players outside the platform, or attempting to move platform-introduced coaching relationships off Puttr to avoid fees;
- fake lessons, fake or incentivized reviews, or manipulation of ratings;
- false statements in your application or profile, including credentials;
- misuse of Player data (Section 7);
- harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate conduct toward any Player, including any inappropriate interaction with a minor;
- violations of these Coach Terms, the general Terms, or applicable law.
"Platform-introduced" means a Player you first connected with through Puttr. You may bring your existing clients to Puttr, and nothing here restricts coaching relationships that did not originate on the platform when conducted entirely off the platform.
Upon removal: undelivered bookings are refunded to Players; amounts already earned for delivered lessons are paid out except where withheld to cover refunds, chargebacks, or fraud; and your marketplace profile and Player data access are disabled.
11. Term and Termination
These Coach Terms apply from your application until your Coach account is closed. You may stop accepting new lessons at any time using the controls in the app, and may close your Coach account by contacting support@puttr.co after completing or refunding your open bookings. Puttr may suspend or terminate your participation as described in Section 10 or where required for legal or security reasons. Sections 4, 6 (for completed transactions), 7, 8, and 9 survive termination.
12. Liability, Indemnification, Disputes
The disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, and dispute resolution provisions of the general Terms apply to these Coach Terms. In addition, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Puttr harmless from claims arising out of the coaching services you provide, including claims by Players relating to your advice or conduct.
